Our Junior school consists of students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Students in these years will study a range of core subjects along with electives they have chosen.
Year 7 and 8
In Years 7 and 8, students will study four core subjects for the year, two core subjects for a semester each (their chosen language and Health and Physical Education) and select two electives, with one completed per semester.
Core subjects include:
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Humanities
- Language / Health and Physical Education (one each semester).
Students will select two electives for the year, one from each group:
- Arts (Drama, Media Arts, Music or Visual Art)
- Technology (Design Technology, Digital Technology, Fibre Technology and Food Technology).
The curriculum guide provides detailed information to assist students to plan subject selections. Students will select Year 8 subjects during Term 3 of Year 7, while incoming Year 7 students will make a selection in Term 4.
Year 9
Students in Year 9 will complete five core subjects over a year with the opportunity to select two electives each semester. The core units include English, Mathematics, Science and a semester each of History and HPE.
Electives may be studied for the year, or may be swapped at the end of Semester 1 depending on timetable availability. Electives from the faculties of Creative Technologies, Humanities, Industrial Technology and Design, Languages, Music and The Arts are offered.

Year 10
Year 10 is part of the senior curriculum. Students currently in Year 9 will select their Year 10 subjects in Term 3. The Senior Curriculum page of the website includes information on senior pathways and the Year 10 Pathways to QCE guide.
