TAFE Queensland offers a suite of funded Trade Taster Program to eligible Year 10 students to try out a trade without needing to commit to a full qualification or apprenticeship. This program will allow students to determine if a trade is the right option for them, or to test out a potential career path for the future.
The TAFE Trade Taster Program delivers training to small groups of students one day per week for approximately 9 weeks. Throughout the program, students get to try different trade areas including:
- Community Service Taster
- Health Care Taster
- Trade Taster
- Hairdressing Taster
Trade Taster program are only available to Year 10 students and are fully funded by the Queensland Government. It is also important to note that these programs do not exhaust a student’s VETiS funding entitlement.
