Instrumental Music Program of Excellence

What is the Instrumental Music Program of Excellence?

This is a Program of Excellence for out of catchment students who have exceptional musical ability who play an orchestral instrument at a level well beyond their age. This is an enrolment pathway for those students to join our acclaimed music department. Limited spaces are available and offers are not made every year.

Goals of the program are to:

  • Provide advanced musicians an opportunity to further develop their skills in Instrumental Music, in a challenging environment, with other like-minded musicians.
  • Allow students to learn through attendance at a group lesson each week and participation in at least one co-curricular Instrumental Music ensemble.
  • Provide multiple opportunities for students to participate in a large co-curricular music ensemble program and grow as a musician within the Music program.
  • Foster a joy of music and life-long learning
