Mansfield activities program (MAP) is offered to all students in Years 7 to 10. An extensive range of sports and non-sporting activities are offered to junior students (Years 7,8 and 9) on Tuesday afternoons and seniors on Wednesdays.
Each MAP block usually runs for 10 weeks and students have the opportunity to select three preferences of activities that they would like to do. The process for activity selection and parent permission is:
- Students will receive an online link which will open at a nominated time and they will select their three activity preferences.
- The MAP Coordinator will place students into activities based on the student's preferences.
- Parents will receive an online permission form through QParents to give permission for their child to participate.
- Invoices will be emailed to parents for MAP activities with a cost. Please wait to receive the invoice before making a payment.
To ensure fairness, activity selection opens on a nominated date at a set time. There is limited availability in some activities and students may miss out on their first preference due to demand. Activities vary in cost depending on the activity selected and the transport required. There are many low cost or free activities offered. Some activities may have minimum numbers to proceed. These will be cancelled if insufficient students select this option.
Note: Students are not permitted to commence their MAP selection until permission is received via the QParents consent form. Please discuss activity selection with your child before the selection form opens and provide consent promptly once the permission is sent.
MAP block 2, 2024
MAP block 2 will commence on Tuesday 21 May for juniors and on Wednesday 22 May 2024 for Year 10 students. Selections are made online with students nominating three preferences. The link to the selections form is emailed in advance to students and will open at a specified time to ensure that all students have equal opportunity to make a selection.
After selections are made, parents will receive a QParents permission for the MAP activity. Students must have permission granted in QParents to participate in their allocated activity.

Students may trial and be selected for inter-school sport instead of participating in MAP.
Uniform
Students participating in physical activities for MAP are required to wear the full sports uniform including sports cap. They change at morning tea into their sport uniform at school and may wear their sports uniform home.
Wet Weather
MAP is not cancelled due to wet weather. There are alternative wet weather procedures in place and students must report to their normal MAP meeting location and staff will advise.
Interschool sport
Students may trial for interschool sport which is played during MAP. Teams are selected via trials and students will be advised by the coach is they have been successful in making a team.
