The school Resource Centre (Library) provides resources for curriculum-based tasks, as well as for recreational purposes.
The collection contains print and non-print resources, including:
Fiction and non-fiction books, a specially selected core of periodicals, daily newspapers, and reference sections.
Paid subscriptions to a range of
online databases.
Digital media collection including e-books.
A range of audio-visual equipment including hard drive video cameras, digital still cameras and tripods.
Within the Resource Centre there are flexible learning spaces, a designated reading room and student photocopiers. Our staff on hand to assist students with resources. Resources are available through the online system Access It.
Opening hours
Mansfield State High School students can access the Resource Centre before school, during breaks and after school during opening times.
Monday - Thursday: 8.00am until 4.00pm
Friday: 8.00am until 3.30pm
Lost or damaged books
Books borrowed by students either individually or as part of a classroom set, must be returned in good condition, suitable for use by other students. Loans must be returned before any further texts may be borrowed. If a book is damaged or missing, please contact the staff at the Resource Centre.
Where possible damaged books are repaired eg; books that have gotten wet in the rain or had pages torn. However, if a repair is not possible, an invoice will be issued to cover the cost of replacing the book.
If a book is lost, an invoice will be issued to cover the cost of replacement. If the book is later found and returned to the Resource Centre, the invoice can be refunded.
RARE (Reading And Reviewing) Book Club
To ensure that all literature coming into the Resource Centre is informative and interesting but not offensive, the RARE Book Club was formed to read and evaluate each new item for either general reading and/or for class sets. RARE meets twice per term to discuss and enjoy the books read. Contact the Resource Centre staff if you wish to be involved.
