Mathematics

Mathematics is a compulsory subject at Mansfield State High School in all year levels. Students have the opportunity from Year 10 onwards to study a Mathematics option that is suited to their interests and ability.

Mansfield teaches the Australian Curriculum 9.0. Please refer to the Queensland Curriculum & Authority website External link for information specific to the achievement standards and content description. Students must study at least one Mathematics subject in Year 10 and may choose to study a Maths elective if eligible​.

The Mathematics options are:

  • Preparatory Essential Mathematics (A)
  • Preparatory General Mathematics (G)
  • Preparatory Mathematical Methods (G)
  • Preparatory Specialist Mathematics (G)

​Year 11 and 12

Students will study a combination of six senior subjects to gain a QCE with a minimum of one Mathematics subject required. 

The Mathematics options are:

  • Essential Mathematics (A)
  • General Mathematics (G)
  • Mathematical Methods (G)
  • Specialist Mathematics (G)
