Languages are a compulsory subject at Mansfield State High School in Year 7 and 8 with students selecting either French or Japanese. Students have the opportunity from Year 9 onwards to study a Language elective that is suited to their interests and ability.
The French Immersion program is a selective entry program available to students enrolling in Year 7. Please refer to Programs of Excellence information on this website for the application process.

| Students have a choice of up to four electives (two each Semester) from the range of electives offered in Year 9. Language electives are studied in both semesters.

| Students will study a combination of six senior subjects to gain a QCE.
