Health and Physical Education

​Health and Physical Education is a compulsory subject at Mansfield State High School in Years 7, 8 and 9. Students have the opportunity from Year 10 onwards to study Health and Physical Education electives to suit their interests and ability.

Mansfield teaches the Australian Curriculum 9.0. Please refer to the Queensland Curriculum & Authority website​ for information specific to the achievement standards and content description. Mansfield's year level curriculum guides provide detailed information on the subjects available at our school.

Students must study eight electives in Year 10 (four each semester).

The Health and Physical Education options are:

  • Preparatory Early Childhood Studies (A)
  • Preparatory Fitness (A)
  • Preparatory Sport & Recreation (A)
  • Preparatory Health (G)
  • Preparatory Physical Education (G)

​Year 11 and 12

Students will study a combination of six senior subjects to gain a QCE. 

The Health and Physical Education options are:

  • Early Childhood Studies (A)
  • Sport & Recreation (A)
  • Health (G)
  • Physical Education (G)
  • Certificate III in Fitness
