Traditionally the Mansfield activities program (MAP) is offered to all students in Years 7 to 10. An extensive range of sports and non-sporting activities are offered to junior students (Years 7,8 and 9) on Tuesday afternoons and seniors on Wednesdays.

Commencing Term 3, 2024 this program has now changed.

Junior MAP

For Block 3, 2024 commencing on Tuesday 20 August all students in Year 7-9 will participate in MAP during Period 4 on Tuesday afternoons. Students will select from a range of activities at school and offsite and parents will be required to give permission in QParents before their child commences the activity and pay the cost upon invoice.

In 2025 this will change to a structured onsite program which will be held during Period 4 on Wednesday afternoons. The program will focus on wellbeing, physical activity and study time appropriate to each year level. Further information will be provided at the start of 2025 for this change.

Senior MAP

Students in Year 10 will be offered study leave instead of MAP Block 3. This has been done in recognition of the senior study load to offer students the opportunity to utilise this time for their assessments and revision. Parents will be asked to provide permission in QParents for their student to access study leave. Students without permission will remain at school and be supervised in a study room.

This change commences Wednesday 21 August 2024.

Uniform

Students participating in physical activities for MAP are required to wear the full sports uniform including sports cap. They change at morning tea into their sport uniform at school and may wear their sports uniform home.

Wet Weather

MAP is not cancelled due to wet weather. There are alternative wet weather procedures in place and students must report to their normal MAP meeting location and staff will advise.
