Enrolling at our school

An Enrolment Management Plan applies at Mansfield State High School.  Please refer to the enrolment management plan and the catchment map to determine eligibility for enrolment.
Enrolments for immediate start are accepted continuously throughout the year for families who live in the catchment area.  Future enrolments are only accepted for the following year ahead. 

Wanting to enrol your student at Mansfield State High School?

 
All prospective students and parents are invited to attend Mansfield State High School’s Open Days.  You will receive a guided tour of the school as well as an informative and interesting talk.  Come early and enjoy listening to one of our magnificent Mansfield music ensembles.  All relevant enrolment forms and information will be available on the day. 
 
Students can apply for enrolment at Mansfield State High School under the following categories:
  • catchment area: student’s principal place of residence is within the defined local catchment area
  • Programs of Excellence: selected based on an order of merit.

Important dates for Year 7 2019 enrolments

  • French Immersion – Tuesday 13 March 2018, 6.00 to 8pm
 
  • Music Accelerando – Wednesday 14 March 2018, 6.00 to 6.30pm 
  • Technologically Integrated Curriculum (TIC) – Wednesday 14 March 2017, 6.45 to 7.15 pm. 
 
Applications for Programs of Excellence close Friday 20 April 2018.
 
First Round Offers for Programs of Excellence made in writing by Monday 25 June 2018.
 
Offers for Programs of Excellence accepted by Friday 20 July 2018.
 
Second Round Offers for Programs of Excellence (if required) mailed October 2018. 

Eligibility for enrolment 

In-catchment students

 
Under the Enrolment Management Plan, priority will be given to the enrolment of students who reside in the local catchment area. You are required to provide proof that you are a permanent resident within the catchment area.  The following documents plus a Statutory Declaration must be submitted as part of the online application process:
 
 

1.   Proof of identity of student 

  • certified copy of student’s birth certificate (Australian or overseas); and
  • certified copy of student’s passport and visa if not born in Australia; and
  • certified copy of the student’s Australian Citizen Certificate, if they have become an Australian citizen within the last five years.
 
2.   Proof of residency
 
      If you own a property and live there permanently:
 
  • certified copy of the latest rates notice; and
  • certified copy of the latest electricity invoice/receipt; or
  • if you have recently purchased a property:
 
a. certified copy of the letter of settlement from your solicitor; and
 
b. certified copy of the electricity connection notice.
 
      If you are Renting a property:     
 
  • certified copy of the current rental agreement; and
 
  • certified copy of the RTA rental bond receipt; and
  • certified copy of the latest electricity invoice/receipt, or electricity connection notice.
 
Note: Shared living arrangements or renting of a room do not qualify as a permanent residence.
3.   Academic Records
 
  • copy of the most recent academic report; and
  • copy of the most recent NAPLAN results
 
 

In-catchment students will be enrolled

  1. after attending an Open Day; and
  2. submitting an online application; and
  3. attending a scheduled group Conference with the Executive Principal.
 

Out of Catchment students - Year 7 2019 only 

 
Out of catchment students must apply for entry into Mansfield State High School through a Program of Excellence  as part of the online application process.  A non-refundable application processing fee of $200 applies for all out of catchment applications.
 
Places for out of catchment students are restricted, and will only be offered if they have satisfied and met the selection process for a Program of Excellence, and the defined number of places for a Program of Excellence has not been filled by enrolments from within the local catchment area.  The following documents must be submitted with the application if the student has been shortlisted and invited to attend an inteview for a position in a Program of Excellence

  • indicate your preference for  Program of Excellence as part of the online application process.
 

Out of catchment students will be enrolled:

After attending an Open Day; and 

  1. submitting an online application and applying for a Programs of Excellence; and
  2. paying the non-refundable  $200 enrolment processing fee; and 
  3. attending an interview with the Executive Principal; and 
  4. accepting an offer for a Program of Excellence.   

Programs of Excellence

 
Mansfield State high school offers the following Programs of Excellence:
 

Entry into a Program of Excellence is available for Year 7 students only, except for Co-Curricular Music which is available for any year level.  Successful students are offered a position in a Program of Excellence following a meritorious selection process.  

How to enrol?

Online enrolment application link is currently unavailable. If you are intending to enrol your child to start in 2018, please collect an application pack from our school’s Administration Office no later than Friday 8 December 2017.

In-catchment students
Once you have submitted your online application, you are required print the application and submit it with all application documents to the Enrolments Officer.
Remember that certain documents must be copied and certified by a Justice of the Peace before they are submitted with the application.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
 
Out of catchment students – Year 7 2019 only
Out of catchment students will be asked to submit all application documents to the Enrolments Officer if they have been shortlisted for a position in a Program of Excellence and have been invited to attend an Interview. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. 
 
Sibling enrolments
Mansfield State High School Enrolment Management Plan does not provide for the automatic enrolment of siblings of current students.  Please contact the Enrolments Officer on 3452 5333 to obtain further information.
