Mansfield State High School offers Work Experience to Year 10 - 12 students. Work Experience familiarises students with working conditions and employer expectations. In addition, it offers students the opportunity to sample a specific type of work, and also promotes personal and social development.
The conditions of Work Experience for Mansfield SHS students are based on The Education (Work Experience) Act 1996. The Education Act stipulates students:
· are 14 years and over;
· receive no payment in money or kind;
· work 5 days during normal working hours for the industry;
· are covered by Workers Compensation; and
· employers are covered by an indemnity policy taken out by Education Queensland (refer to Insurance Information for Parents).
