Excellence programs

​In addition to extending students within classes, a number of electives exists which allows high achieving students to be challenged even more.

A wide range of specific co-curricular / extra-curricular opportunities is made available to high achieving students. These might include:

  • Subject based theoretical and practical competitions in a wide range of curriculum areas
  • Extension excursions, including to universities and overseas
  • Interaction with guest experts
  • Work experience opportunities, including in research laboratories
  • Tutoring other students 
  • Participation in Creative Generations in Music, Art, Dance and Film
  • Participation in a variety of school based groups such as Student Council, Rauchle Service Club and the Environmental Council.
  • A variety of sporting competitions such as the Schools Cup for Volleyball, Bill Turner Futsal competition
  • Selected Year 11 Biology students participating in SPARQ-ed™ (Students Performing Advanced Research Queensland) at the University of Queensland's Diamantina Institute
  • A variety of other activities such as debating, public speaking, musical, student reporters, Reader 2 Reader program, Lions Youth of the Year.
