Fifteen Year 9 and 10 students are volunteering their time to participate in The Smith Family Student2Student Programme or as we like to call it, the Reader2Reader Programme.

This programme aims to improve the reading skills of disadvantaged primary school students by partnering them with an older student or buddy who will phone them twice a week and read with them for 20 minutes.

The programme is just as rewarding for the older students as it is for the younger ones. Recently, our students met with Ashni and Karen, their Smith Family Mentors, for a formal training session. They will commence the programme in Term 2.
