Peter Doherty Award Winner 2014

Rosalie was one of only ten Year 12 students in Queensland to receive the 2014 Peter Doherty Outstanding Senior Science Student award.  The awards are named after Professor Peter Doherty, a Brisbane-born Nobel Prize-winning scientist. For Rosalie, this award means a step towards her future in science. Some of the $3000 prize money will go towards her trip to Melbourne to work with Professor Terry Speed at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and to continue her scientific experiences at the TRI institute with Associate Professor Brian Gabrielli and Professor David Evans. It was through Mansfield State High School's link with the SPARQ-ed programme with Dr Darben at the TRI institute that she discovered her passion for scientific research.  Congratulations Rosalie! This is a wonderful achievement!
