National Youth Science Forum 2014

4/03/2014
Aimee Mufasha Year 12
At the beginning of the year, I had the opportunity of attending session B of the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) in Perth. At the forum, we participated in both hands-on science activities, group discussions on globalissues as well as developing leadership and personal skills. During the twelve days in Perth, we worked alongside top scientists and met leading researchers in the field of science. One of the highlights was meeting the other 142 like-minded students from all over Australia. The friendships built during this forum will hopefully last forever. Attending the NYSF further enriched my understanding of science and has broadened my understanding of possible new pathways for me within this field. Personally, I encourage all Year 11 students who are interested in science to consider this opportunity as it is no doubt a life transforming event. Applications to attend the National Youth Science Forum in January 2015 open on 1 April 2014 and close on 31 May 2014. If you would like to apply, go to www.nysf.edu.au and learn more about what you need to do.
